Built in 1879, Woodside Hall is a historic, architectural gem. The white columns of its graceful Neo-classical facade are visible from the main street of Cooperstown. The approach is by a winding driveway through groves of mature oak and maple trees. The grounds are planted with shrubs and flowers, and a sweeping lawn is focused by an historic entrance gate and fountain. The fieldstone and wood construction of Woodside Hall is being restored to its full glory.
The interiors of Woodside Hall are beautifully proportioned, with high ceilings, and wide hallways. Light floods through large windows to highlight the historic architectural details. Chandeliers, fireplaces, and fine furnishings give a home-like feeling of quiet repose to Woodside Hall. A large common dining room is the center of many shared meals and social activities.
